18 лет вместе все-таки.

In this video I read in three different languages (Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian) the same fragment from a famous Russian poem Ruslan and Ludmilla by Alexander Pushkin. (There is a green oak-tree by the lukomorye… ).

Hi! I’m Kate, a bookworm and a language enthusiast. For many years I enjoy reading books, listening to audiobooks, watching movies in different languages but I still can’t speak. I cannot express myself and my thoughts as clearly as fluently as I want (without a prepared script).
The same problem with my native language – Russian. Public speaking always was a nightmare to me… 🙈
So that is why I decided to start making videos in different languages. I really want to get out of my comfort zone, to overcome my fear of speaking in foreign languages and have an opportunity to talk to all of you guys about everything!!!

Witam! W tym filmiku pokażę Wam jak czytam po polsku na głos polską książkę pod tytułem – “Znachor” autorstwa Tadeusza Dołęgi-Mostowicza. Uwielbiam tę opowieść! Słuchałam audiobook i ogladałam film “Znachor” wiele razy, ale nigdy nie czytałam książki po polsku, a szczególnie na głos.

Cześć! Mam na imię Katarzyna (ros. Екатерина). Jestem Rosjanką i bardzo lubię uczyć się języków obcych i czytać książki w oryginale. Teraz umiem czytać po angielsku, hiszpańsku, polsku, trochę też po ukraińsku i białorusku. Rozumiem te języki, ale nie potrafię mówić we wszystkich z nich. Mam jednak pewien problem. Nie potrafię mówić bez tekstu pisanego! Najpierw muszę napisać cały tekst, co chcę powiedzieć, a następnie przeczytać.
Może jest to problem psychologiczny, bo dokładnie mam prawie taki sam problem w moim ojczystym języku – rosyjskim. Wystąpienia publiczne zawsze były dla mnie trudne i nigdy nie przemawiałam publicznie bez wcześniej napisanego tekstu.
Ale myślę, że muszę zacząć to zmieniać! ! Dlatego otworzyłam nowy kanał na You Tube pod tytułem “Silent Polyglot”, żeby lepiej uczyć się języków obcych i aby stopniowo zacząć rozmawiać z całym światem o językach i o książkach.

In this video, I read aloud a passage in a famous Polish novel Znachor (The Quack) by Tadeusz Dołęga-Mostowicz. I absolutely love this story! I’ve listened to the audiobook and watched the film Znachor (1982) many times but I have never read this book.

I tried my best to read this passage with proper rhythm and intonation but I know my pronunciation is still far from perfect.

Leyendo en Español / Reading in Spanish // Rusa Tratando de Hablar Español

En este vídeo estoy leyendo en español una historia muy corta que escribí después de ver un genial cortometraje de animación español “El Vendedor de Humo”.

El Vendedor de Humo
Había una vez un hombre que parecía muy joven y muy guapo, y que fue a una ciudad pequeña.
Al principio, cuando él trataba de vender a los ciudadanos algo extraño, todos los ciudadanos no le prestaban atención a él. Pero más tarde, cuando el hombre transformó un juguete que no se parecía mucho a un aeroplano en un verdadero avión pequeño, toda la gente poco a poco cambió su opinión sobre él. Parecía un mago de verdad.
Los ciudadanos empezaron a venir con él y le pidieron transformar las cosas de ellos que habían viejas y simples a cosas nuevas y de moda. El hombre hacía su trabajo muy bien, pero de vez en cuando miraba al cielo…
Finalmente nuestro joven mago llegó hasta donde estaba el gobernador de esta ciudad y el gobernador le dijo que siempre había soñado transformar su pequeño bastón en uno más grande. El mago realizó su deseo, luego recogió todas sus cosas muy rápido y de pronto salió de ésta ciudad.
De repente, empezó una lluvia muy fuerte y todas las cosas maravillosas que este hombre había transformado antes, ahora han vuelto a ser como en un principio – viejas y simples. Y el mago también cambió, la lluvia lo transformó a él del hombre joven a un hombre viejo. Solo una cosa la lluvia no pudo cambiar – este hombre resultó ser un engañador, ladrόn y mentiroso.

¡Hola a todos! Me llamo Kate (Katia). Soy rusa y me gustan mucho los idiomas extranjeros y sobre todo el español. Estudio español desde hace unos años, puedo leer e escuchar pero no puedo hablarlo porque tengo miedo de cometer mil errores.
Por eso empecé mi canal de YouTube para tratar de hablar en español y otros idiomas que estoy aprendiendo.
Y ahora para empezar, casi cada dia trato escribir un poco y leer en voz alta en español, inglés, polaco…
A mí me gusta muchísimo practicar la escritura y la lectura de esta manera. ¡Espero que estas prácticas me ayuden a mejorar todos mis idiomas extranjeros.

In this video, I read aloud in Spanish a short story that I wrote after watching a Spanish animated film: “El Vendedor De Humo” (Smoke Seller).
I believe, writing short stories in your target languages is one of the best ways to practice writing skills (and reading skills, too!). All you need is just find a theme that you’d like to discuss and write about it for at least 5-10 minutes every day.

Все понимаю, но не говорю – моя проблема при изучении языков

Всем привет! Все понимаю, но не говорю – моя главная проблема при изучении иностранных языков. Могу читать, слушать аудиокниги, смотреть фильмы на языке оригинала, но открыть рот и сказать что-то связно и красиво, без заранее заготовленного текста… не могу.

Добавим к этому боязнь публичных выступлений и на родном, русском языке – и картинка уже совсем безрадостная получается…

В этом видео я попыталась разобраться в проблемах этой своей языковой «немоты» и наметить план действий по их решению.

Создала Ютуб-канал, на который постараюсь выкладывать ролики на разных языках и на самые разные темы. Пока не знаю, куда это все меня приведет, но точно знаю одно: я больше не хочу быть один на один с этой проблемой языковой немоты и боязнью публичных выступлений!

Присоединяйтесь! Напишите в комментариях, расскажите свой опыт. Если у кого-то из вас было это состояние «все понимаю, но не говорю», как вы из него выходили? Возможно, есть какие-то специальные интересные методики, или приемы как преодолеть этот «венец молчания», активировать словарный запас и наконец-то начать ГОВОРИТЬ.

Может у кого-нибудь из вас есть контакты хорошего педагога по сценической речи, курсов ораторского искусства или, может, психолога – я даже не знаю пока, какой вариант будет лучше в данной ситуации, в самом начале пути. Но хотелось бы испробовать все возможности! :)
