Книга «Сталин. Жизнь и смерть». Автор: Эдвард Радзинский

Эдвард Станиславович, спасибо за Ваш труд!
Страшная книга! Отлично написанная, но очень тяжелая. Из числа тех, которые сначала долго читаешь, а потом долго обдумываешь прочитанное.
Здесь не только жизнь и судьба Сталина. Здесь вся Россия с начала XX века. Люди, судьбы. Жизнь и смерть…

Thank you, author, for such an excellent book! This was a long, tough and very important read.
This book really opened my eyes to much more I had known not only about Stalin but also about the history of Russia in the first half of the twentieth century.
I finished reading this book some days ago but I’m still thinking about it. Highly recommend!

Harry Potter i Insygnia Śmierci – video in Polish / Learning languages by reading books

Hi friends! Today’s video is in Polish. I finally finished reading the seventh and final Harry Potter book (in Polish) – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and I’d like to tell you about it.
I apologize for the bad pronunciation and for many speaking mistakes I’ve made in this video. The next phase of my house renovations has finally begun and I had to find a new place to make my YouTube videos. As a result, the film was recorded only at two o’clock in the morning, (in the attic…), when I was a bit tired already.
Thank you so much for watching! 💕
I’d love to hear your thoughts, guys!
Please leave a comment below and let me know, what do you think about reading the same book (or a whole series of books) in different languages?
Also I’d really appreciate all your feedback, any correction and any advice you could give on how to improve my pronunciation in Polish.

Chcę bardzo podziękowac pani Małgorzacie, mojej nauczycielki języka polskiego, za pomoc w tworzeniu tekstu. Jej kanał na YouTube ▶ Polski nie jest trudny https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC24eS6tBU_Xg4pGv34L8nTA

● O mnie
Cześć! Mam na imię Katarzyna (ros. Екатерина).
Serdecznie zapraszam do subskrybowania mojego kanału.
Uczmy się razem języków obcych!

I Took The Same English Test 10 Years Later! / Results of my English vocabulary size 2011 – 2021

Hey friends! I took the same English vocabulary test 10 years apart! Let’s see the results of my English vocabulary size October 2011 – October 2021.

Ten years ago (October 2011) I took a free English vocabulary test online. I got the results and completely forgot about it. Many years later, this October 2021 I was really surprised to discover that this very test still exists, and I decided to take it again and see how much my vocabulary size has changed.
So exactly the same English vocabulary test 10 years later! Let’s see what happened!

I’d like to hear your thoughts, guys. Please write in the comments – if you have ever taken such tests that measure vocabulary size. What were your results?

You can also take the free online test I was talking about in this video.
Here is the link – Test Your Vocab – http://testyourvocab.com
If you take the test, please share your results in the comments. I would really love to know them and what you think about all of this in general.

Note: this is not a sponsored video. It’s a completely free English vocabulary test. I am just sharing some of the online resources I have found helpful.

When the Ashes Fall

Прочитала When the Ashes Fall by Jacqueline Druga. Сначала было очень интересно, но потом интерес начал угасать и дочитывала до конца уже без особого энтузиазма. Хорошая книга, но я ожидала бОльшего.

Выписала только две фразы:
T-bone = broadside (collision) = врезаться в бок автомобиля;
jack = самая малость, чуточка (You know jack…).

Восполняю пробелы в школьном образовании – читаю М. Булгакова

Впервые в жизни прочитала “Собачье сердце” Михаила Булгакова. Много раз смотрела фильм, но до книги добралась только сейчас.
Замечательная повесть! Вроде небольшая, а с разбегу не проглотишь. Переворачиваешь последнюю страницу и хочется просто посидеть тихонечко, помолчать…

Цитата из книги:

“Never commit a crime against anybody whatsoever. Live to old age with clean hands.
Mikhail Bulgakov, Heart of a Dog

🔴 About
Hi! I’m Kate, a bookworm and a language enthusiast. For many years I enjoy reading books, listening to audiobooks, watching movies in different languages but I still can’t speak. I cannot express myself and my thoughts as clearly as fluently as I want (without a prepared script).
The same problem with my native language – Russian. Public speaking always was a nightmare to me… 🙈
So that is why I decided to start making videos in different languages. I really want to get out of my comfort zone, to overcome my fear of speaking in foreign languages and have an opportunity to talk to all of you guys about everything!!!
My friends call me a silent polyglot …. but I don’t want to be silent anymore! :)

The best book I’ve read in Polish! 🇵🇱

I’ve just finished reading Znachor (Znachor #1) by Tadeusz Dołęga-Mostowicz (in Polish).

I really loved this book! Actually, it’s one of the best classic books I’ve ever read! Well-written, deep and very emotional story that gripped me from the very first page and didn’t let go until the end. Amazing, absolutely amazing! Highly recommended! ❤️
